2 Comparisons of Equalities Comparing two things that are equal Tan + adverb/adjective + como Tanto/tanta/tantos/tantas + noun + como (verb) Tanto/tanta/tanto/tantas + como Ex.- Las niñas son tan juguentonas como los niños. (Girls are as playful as boys). Ex.- Ya no tengo tanta energía como antes. (I don’t have as much energy as before). Ex.- Mi madre trabaja tanto como mi padre. 3 Comparisons of Inequalities Comparing two things that are not equal. Más/menos + adjective/adverb + que Ex.- Esta motocicleta es más bonita que la roja. (This motorcycle is prettier than the red one). Ex.- Mamá es menos obesa que mi abuela. (Mom is less obese than grandma). 4 Relative Superlative Indicates greatest or least quality degree of one or more people in relation to others in a specific group; (most, best, least, worst). El/la/los/las + noun + más/menos + adjective Ex.- El tren es más rapido. (The train is the fastest). Ex. – Rodrigo es el estudiante menos intelligente de su clase. (Rodrido is the least intelligent student in the class).

5 Absolute Superlative Degree of adjective where suffixes are added to indicate greater quality or degree. -ísimo/a, -bilísimo/a, -érrimo/a Ex. – guapo=handsome; guapérrimo=extremely handsome Ex. – amable=kind; amabilísima=extremely kind

6 Irregular Comparatives Adjectives Bueno-good  Mejor-better Malo-bad  Peor-worse Grande-large  Mayor-larger, older Pequeno-small  Menor-smaller, younger Adverbs Mucho-much  Más-more Poco-little  Menos-less Bien-well  Mejor-better Mal-badly  Peor-worse
