2 A FIN DE PROCURAR UN MAYOR IMPACTO EN LA FORMACIÓN DE RECURSOS HUMANOS DEL MÁS ALTO NIVEL, TANTO EN EL ÁMBITO TÉCNICO COMO EN EL CIENTÍFICO, SE PROPONEN LAS ACCIONES SIGUIENTES: - PAQUETES DE MATERIAS IMPARTIDOS POR INVESTIGADORES DE LA RED FAE QUE PUEDANSER CURSADOS POR ESTUDIANTES DE LOS POSGRADOS DE LAS INSTITUCIONES DEL PAÍS. - CO-DIRECCIONES DE TESIS DE DOCTORADO Y MAESTRÍA. - ESTANCIAS DE LARGA DURACIÓN EN GRANDES LABORATORIOS DEL EXTRANJERO (CERN, FERMILAB, AUGER, GRAN SASSO, KAMIOKA, SNO Y OTROS). - FORMACIÓN DE PERSONAL ALTAMENTE CALIFICADO EN EL MANEJO DE TÉCNICAS Y PROCEDIMIENTOS SOFISTICADOS, QUE REQUIEREN DE TECNOLOGÍA DE PUNTA EN ELECTRÓNICA, DETECCIÓN, INFORMÁTICA, ALTO VACÍO, ETC. - DOCTORADO S CONJUNTOS.

Para estudiantes de postgrado: Serie anual de cursos en forma de escuelas de corta duración en diversas ciudades (Escuela Mexicana de Partículas y Campos, Escuela Mexicana de Astrofísica, Escuela de Cosmología, Escuela Latinoamericana del CERN, Escuela de Rayos Cósmicos y Astrofísica, Escuela de Instrumentación). 7 Objectives of the Program The main objective of the Project is to create a network for the training of personnel both in European and Latin-American Institutes/Universities.

9 It allowed Latin American groups to participate in the construction of the detectors for the LHC at CERN In particular, it allowed the Mexican group to fulfill its 2005-2006 (and now 2007) commitments in the construction of the ALICE detector in CERN and in the operation of the Pierre Auger Observatory. 14 Objectives 1.To train young generations of physicists in High Energy Physics, in which Europe is world leader, thereby promoting fundamental physics in Latin American countries and contributing to the modernization of physics education here. 2.To make use of CERN, DESY and Gran Sasso facilities, in particular the Large Hadron Collider (LHC), HERA and their experiments, as well as the Auger Experiment in Argentina, as fundamental tools for an advanced training programme. 3.To facilitate access of Latin American countries to the technological benefits in the accelerator, detector and information technology domains (GRID as an example). 4.To strengthen the integration of the European and Latin American Physics communities. Training Program Complementary training (CT): Mobility of undergraduate students of the two final years of the University courses Advanced training (AT): Doctorate, Master degrees or post-doctoral vocational specialisation courses Short-term training (STT): as part of post-graduate studies Researchers training (RT): Specialised scientific visits for researchers
