4 Present Tense Verbs Before learning the pattern you must understand a few things about Spanish verbs. 1.Spanish infinitives are categorized as –ar, -er, and –ir verbs. These categories don’t cover all the verbs. 2.Spanish verbs have two sections: a stem and an infinitive ending. 3.Each category of infinitive ending (-ar, -er, and – ir) has its own set of 6 conjugation endings.  Once you learn these 18 new endings, you can conjugate almost anything! Unconjugated verb, “to dance/sing/eat/play/run”

Nosotros [estudiar] el español. 1.Determine what type of verb you have (-ar, -er, -ir). ▫Estudiar = -ar 2.Determine your subject. ▫we = nosotros 3.Remove the infinitive ending. ▫Estudiar  estudi 4.Add your new ending on to the verb’s stem. ▫Estudi + amos = estudiamos 5.Ta-da!
