El Ciclo de Agua
2
The Water Cycle – The Hydrologic Cycle El Ciclo de Agua – El Ciclo Hidrológico
3
Water Cycle Then what? It starts all over again! That is why it is called a cycle.
4
The Sun The sun’s energy is necessary to power the water cycle.
5
Evaporation
6
The sun warms the water, causing it to change from water (liquid) to water vapor (gas). El sol calienta el agua, haciendo que el cambio de agua (líquido) a vapor de agua (gas).
7
Transpiration - Transpira ción Condensation - Condensa ción
8
Condensation Once the warm water vapor (gas) hits the cooler air in the atmosphere it changes back into a liquid and forms a cloud. Cuando el agua caliente de vapor (gas) disparo al aire más frío en la atmósfera lo convierte nuevamente en un líquido y se forma una nube.
9
Precipitation – Precipitación
10
Precipitation Tiny water droplets hit each other, stick together and become larger. Once the droplets become too heavy, the cloud can no longer hold them. It begins to precipitate.
11
Transpiration - Transpira ción
12
Transpiration Plants lose water out of their leaves. The water goes into the air as water vapor.
13
What is runoff? ¿Qué es la escorrentía? Runoff occurs when water flows over the ground instead of sinking into the ground.
14
Infiltration is water movement between the spaces in the soil. What is infiltration?
