Since the Toledo Administration took over at the end of July of 2001, the renewal of confidence has been driving an impressive recovery of Peru’s economy. In the top chart we can see that the recovery of economic growth since August 2001 has not only been sustained consistently, but has also exceeded expectations. Indeed, the accumulated growth rate of January-September stands at 4.7% year on year, which far exceeds the official growth forecast of 3.7% for the full-year This leads us to believe that real GDP growth could actually exceed 4% this year.
