5 To respond When someone introduces someone to you; you would say
Encantado (male) Encantada (female) Mucho gusto Note that the saying “mucho gusto” is for both; male or female. It doesn’t change. To say you are also pleased to meet that person you say Igualmente

So far you have learned a lot of vocabulary related to introductions. Can you give some examples of what have you learned? Levanten la mano!!!! Raise your hand!!!! So in order to say who you are; there are three ways of saying that: SOY…(I’m…) ME LLAMO… (My name is…) MI NOMBRE ES… (My name is…)

To ask where someone is from you say De donde eres? To say where you are from you say Soy de…. Where are you from? Soy de España. I’m from Spain.

13 To ask and say where you’re from
De donde eres? Soy de Hebron. Soy de Mardela. Soy de los Estados Unidos. (USA)

Ask two people close to you where they are from. De donde eres? Answer the question by saying Soy de…(place) Now in order to say where that person is from you say Juan es de Hebron Julia es de Mardela Carlos es de Maryland Tell the class where your classmate is from. Name+es de+ place

15 Mas practica/more practice
Each one of you will receive an index card with either a question or a response; based on the introductions you have been learning. You need to match your answers with the correct question. If you have a card with a response; you need to find the person that has the question to your response. (read the response out loud ) If you have a card that has a question (colored); you must ask that question to your classmates and see if they have the answer to your question or not. If not keep looking until you find all the students that have the answers to your question. For example: Estoy bien. Estoy mal. Estoy regular. Estoy fatal. Como estas?

25 Creamos un dialogo/let’s create a dialogue
En equipos de 3 o 4; crea un dialogo entre ustedes en Español. Mira el escenario. In groups of 3 or 4; create a dialogue in Spanish. Look at the scenario. Imagine that you and your classmates have just joined the Spanish club at your school. Greet each other, find out each other’s name and where each other is from. Then introduce one another to a classmate. You will act out your dialogue in front of the class today for a grade!!!

So you will be referring to a certain person or a group of people; when we talk about subject pronouns. The word pronoun comes from the word “pronunciation”; meaning -what will you call that person by. In English you can call a person by his/her name; but you can also call someone by: you, he, she, we, or they
