When we conjugate any verb we always begin with its stem. To conjugate: To put a verb in its correct person and number so that we know who is doing the action. Verb Conjugation

Terminations of the –ER verbs Yo -ONosotros -EMOS Tú -ESVosotros -ÉIS Él, ella Ud. -EEllos, ellas, Uds. - EN

Take the verb COMER. Remove the ending and add the terminations. This is what we call “to conjugate a verb” Yo como – I eatNosotros/ as comemos We eat Tú comes – you eatVosotros coméis You all eat Él, ella come he, she eats Usted come - you eat (formal) Ellos, ellas comen – they eat Ustedes comen – you all eat (formal)
