1 Nosotros Commands Sra. Lear Spanish II 5.1

2 ¿Recuerdas? You have already learned to form the subjunctive of regular verbs. The nosotros command forms take the same endings.

3 When forming nosotros commands, use the same endings as you do with the nosotros form of the subjunctive. First start with the present tense yo form. Drop the –o, change to…. For –ar verbs: -emos -amos For –er/ir verbs: ¿Te interesa la naturaleza? Escribamos un artículo sobre los tucanes de Costa Rica. Are you interested in nature? Let’s write an article about the toucans of Costa Rica.

4 Spelling changes -gar changes to -guemos -zar changes to –cemos
Verbs ending in the following require spelling changes to keep pronunciation consistent. -car changes to -quemos -gar changes to -guemos -zar changes to –cemos The nosotros command form of the verb ir is vamos. Comencemos con el tour. ¡Vamos! Let’s begin the tour. Let’s go!

5 If the verb is used reflexively, the nosotros command ends in –nos.
1. Remove the –se or -nos 2. Use the nosotros form of the subjunctive mood. 3. Drop the –s 4. Add –nos 5. Add an accent on the 3rd to the last syllable Estamos muy cansados; sentémonos a descansar. We’re very tired; let’s sit and rest.

6 If the verb is used reflexively…
sentarse- remove the –se: sentar Put it in the nosotros form of the subjunctive form: sentemos drop the –s: sentemo Add –nos: sentemonos Add an accent: sentémonos secarse- secar (remove the –se) Use the subjunctive nosotros form: sequemos Drop the s- sequemo Add the –nos sequémonos acostarse-acostar-acostemos= acostémonos

7 Give the nosotros command:
dejar- sacar- caminar- levantarse- escribir- cambiarse- Use the nosotros form of the subjunctive mood Add –nos if the verb is reflexive (ends in –se) Drop the –s Add an accent on the 3rd to the last syllable

8 Give the nosotros command:
dejar- sacar- caminar- levantarse- escribir- cambiarse- dejemos saquemos caminemos levantémonos escribamos cambiémonos
