We use a person or object +’s to indicate possession. Ex. Whose bag is this?It’s Mary’s bag. Is this Mary’s bag?Yes, it is/ No, it isn’t. With regular plural words and ending in ‘s’, put the apostrophe without the ‘s’. Ex. These are my brothers’ bedrooms. My parents’ names are Leo and Elizabeth.

With irregular plural forms, put the apostrophe + ‘s’ as customary. Ex. Their children’s names are Peter and Jane. The men’s clothes are dirty. With people’s names ending in‘s’, put the apostrophe + ‘s’ as customary or just an apostrophe without the s. Ex. Charles’s wife or Charles’ wife Nicolas’s brother or Nicolas’ brother
