Wesley Burks, MD is the Curnen Distinguished Professor and Chair of the Department of Pediatrics at the North Carolina Children’s Hospital in Chapel Hill, NC Dr. Wesley Burks, Presidente saliente American Academy of Allergy, Asthma and Immunology Los intereses de investigación del Dr. Burks se enfocan en alergia alimenticia y reacciones adversas a alimentos. Su trabajo se ha centrado en la identificación molecular de alergenos en alimentos específicos. En mejorar nuestro entendimiento de los mecanismos de reacciones adversos a alimentos y el desarrollo de un tratamiento oportuno. (modelos animales y estudios clínicos en humanos) Está al cargo de varios estudios clínicos con inmunoterapia por vía de la mucosa de moléculas recombinantes Recibe fondos de investigación del National Institutes of Health. Dr. Burks ha publicado en revistas médicas indexadas de alto nivel, y ha escrito capítulos de libros y múltiples resúmenes. Es miembro de la sección de NIH Hypersensitivity, Autoimmune, and Immune-mediated Diseases .
