Educational Code 48200 Compulsory Full Time Education Each person between the ages of 6 and 18 years not exempted is subject to compulsory full-time education…. shall attend the public full-time day school or continuation school or classes and for the full time designated as the length of the school day by the governing board of the school district in which the residency of either the parent or legal guardian is located and each parent, guardian, or other person having control or charge of the pupil shall send the pupil to the public full-time day school or continuation school or classes and for the full time designated as the length of the school day by the governing board of the school district in which the residence of either the parent or legal guardian is located. 3 Ausentismo Escolar Injustificado
C.E Ausentismo Escolar Injustificado Cualquier estudiante que éste sujeto a la educación obligatoria de tiempo completo o a educación de continuación obligatoria que se ausente de la escuela por tres ocasiones completas sin una excusa válida en un año escolar, o que tenga tardanzas de más de 30 minutos en tres ocasiones en un año escolar o cualquier combinación de la misma, incurre en ausentismo escolar injustificado y debe ser denunciado al Supervisor de Asistencia o al Superintendente escolar del distrito. E.C Truant Pupils Any pupil subject to compulsory full-time education or to compulsory continuation education who is absent from school without valid excuse three full days or tardy in excess of thirty minutes on three occasions one school year or any combination thereof, is a truant and shall be reported to the attendance supervisor or to the superintendent of the school district. (If the appointment must be during school hours, your child should attend school prior to the appointment and/or return to school after the appointment.) Plan family vacations only during school vacations. Help your child develop a positive attitude towards going to school. Have alternative transportation options in place if you cannot take your child to school yourself. Display school calendars and schedules in a visible place at home. Make sure your child’s school has your updated daytime contact information, including cell phone number and/or addresses.
