The imperfect tense refers to the past, but doesnt indicates specifically when the event begins or ends. To form the imperfect tense of regular verbs, drop the –ar, -er, or –ir ending from the infinitive form and add the imperfect endings. All verbs follow this form except for ser, ir and ver. Imperfect Tense:
