We call linguistic sign to each of the oral signs that make up a language. ARBITRARY: The relationship between signifier and signified is an agreement between speakers. Therefore, each language associates a different signifier with the same signified.

ARTICULATE It is composed of smaller parts that are grouped to form words, phrases, sentences. In a first articulation (division) the linguistic sign is divided into monemes: lexemes and morphemes.

INTERRELATED THE LINGUISTIC SIGN ACQUIRES VALUE IN ITS RELATION TO OTHER SIGNS.
