2 Adverbial conjunctions
➨ The subjunctive mode always occurs in dependent clauses that are introduced by these conjunctions. A menos que (unless) Antes (de) que (before) Con tal (de) que (provided that) Para que (so that) Sin que (without) ➨ Note that these conjunctions introduce dependent clauses in which the events have not happed yet; the events are conceptualized, they are not real at that point.

3 Examples Voy al cine con tal de que ellos me inviten.
(I’m going to the movies provided that they invite me) Voy a estudiar antes de que tenga el examen. (I’m going to study before I have the exam) No voy a su casa a menos que yo cocine. (I’m not going to her house unless I cook) El profesor repasa la lección para que los alumnos entiendan mejor. (The teacher reviews the lesson so that the students unterstand it better) Llevo dos semanas sin que me pase algo excitante. (It´s been two weeks without anything exciting happening to me)
