2 Some verbs have a stem-change in the preterite (past) tense.

3 Today we will learn e -> i and o -> u stem-changing verbs.

4 Important! Preterite E -> I and O -> U stem-changers only experience a stem-change in the él/ella/Ud. and ellos/ellas/uds. conjugations.

The following 8 verbs have e → i stem-changes in the él/ella/Ud. & ellos/ellas/Uds. forms of the preterite:
