26 ME DUELE/ ME DUELEN Using duele/ duelen to translate "hurt" is similar to using the verb gustar. For example, to translate the sentence "I like the book," you say, "Me gusta el libro," which literally means, “The book pleases me." To translate "My head hurts," you say, "Me duele la cabeza," which literally means, “The head hurts me." Also, in these sentences, you will not use "my" when referring to body parts. Keep the article!! Just like you would with the verb gustar! Me duelen los ojosr. My eyes hurt. ¿Te duele el pie? Does your foot hurt? A Mani le duelen las manos y las rodillas. Mani’s hands and knees hurt.
