2 SER Y ESTAR are both TO BE in English, but in Spanish they´re different verbs.
Generally SER is used for more permanent or long-term situations and ESTAR is used for more temporary or short term ones.

3 Uses of Ser and Estar Ser is used for: Estar is used for Descriptions
Physical Personality Occupations Relationships Origin Time and date Estar is used for Location Physical state or condition Feelings or emotions Actions: estar + gerund (ing form of verb)

El niño es rubio La niña es morena

5 Ser – Description of personality
La niña es simpática El niño es antipático

6 Ser – Occupations Mi padre es profesor Ellas son cantantes

7 Ser – Relationships Es mi hermana pequeña Son buenos amigos

8 Ser – Origin Es de Irlanda Es de España
