2 In Spanish, the days of the week and the months of the year are NOT capitalized unless they appear at the beginning of a sentence! When writing the date (whether in word or number form), you ALWAYS refer to the number for the day first, and then the month! for example – September 18, 2014 is 18/9/14 in Spanish speaking countries! 3 THE MAGIC FORMULA FOR WRITING THE DATE IN SPANISH:
el _____blank______ de ______blank________ (day) (month) On the 1st of the month, you use the word primero instead of the number word uno. Expressing the Date

4 When you want to give the date, use the following phrase:
Hoy es el (day) de (month). To ask what today’s date is, use the following phrase: ¿Cuál es la fecha de hoy? Expressing the Date

5 You may add more information in front of and behind the magic formula to give a more complete date.
Hoy es jueves, el ocho de octubre de dos mil quince. Today is Thursday, the 8th of October, 2015. Mañana es viernes, el nueve de octubre de dos mil quince. Tomorrow is Friday, the 9th of october, 2015. Expressing the Date
