Gusta/Gustan actually agrees with what it is that someone likes! That’s why you only use the 3rd person singular and plural forms of the verb.

3 With Verbs: When you use “gusta” with a verb infinitive, you are saying that “the action pleases/is pleasing to the subject”.

4 Formation -- Singular Subjects
(A mí) Me gusta ___ I like ___. (A tí) Te gusta ___ You like ___. (A él) He likes ___. (A ella) Le gusta ___. -- She likes ___. (A usted) You like ___. (A Julia) Julie likes ___.

5 Formation -- Plural Subjects
(A nosotros) Nos gusta __. --We like __. (A ellos/ellas) They like __. (A ustedes) Les gusta __. – Ya’ll like.. (A los estudiantes)--The students like… *The (a …) expressions are optional in the yo, tú, and nosotros forms, but can be used for emphasis. For the él, ellos forms, use this for clarification or specific names/subjects.

A mí me gusta leer. A ti te gusta correr. A Jorge le gusta hablar. A nosotros nos gusta tomar clases. A ellos les gusta bailar. A ustedes les gusta escribir en español.
