In English the conditional tense is formed with the helping verb would. It is conjugated simply by adding the following conditional tense endings to the infinitive.

3 Remember the endings are ATTACHED to the stems of these irregular verbs!

4 Special use #1: You can also use the conditional tense to GUESS or SPECULATE about something in the PAST . I wonder what Carlos was doing yesterday. ¿Qué haría Carlos ayer? He was probably playing tennis with Emiliano. Jugaría al tenis con Emiliano.

Special use #2: To make polite requests. Por ejemplo: Disculpe, Señor. ¿Podría decirme dónde está la parada de autobús?

6 Special use #3: Reported Speech
To describe reported events in relation to a point of reference in the past (using verbs like decir, anunciar, responder, etc.)

7 ¡Abróchate el cinturón de seguridad!
El avión aterrizará en 10 minutos. ¡Abróchate el cinturón de seguridad! La azafata dijo que aterrizaríamos en 10 minutos.
