There’s no gift that he will like (a gift he likes may not exist, we don’t know) There’s no one who can sing like Ariel (we don’t know if anyone else can sing like Ariel, we are uncertain of their existence) I don’t know anyone who likes fruit cake (someone in the world might like fruit cake, but I don’t know them – I am uncertain of their existence) She’s looking for a job that uses literature and science (she doesn’t know if a job like this is real; it’s uncertain if she can find this job) Do you know anyone that tutors? (I don’t know if you know anyone who tutors, so I ask and use the subjunctive because I am uncertain if you know anyone)
