Read this text. Think of 4 different headlines which would cover all the information. Then re-read the text.

14 Estrategia 4 – Mnemonics
Read the text and try to remember as much as you can. In a minute, the words will be replaced by just the first letter of each word. “Hola. Me llamo Teresa y tengo quince años. Me gusta mucho mi colegio. Tengo que llevar uniforme. Llevo un pantalón negro y unos zapatos negros. En mi instituto, no se debe comer chicle.”

18 Other ways to revise… 1. Place a post-it note over the middle of one of your questions. Try and write out the missing text on top of the post-it. Try this on different paragraphs and in different places. En mi familía, somos cuatro. Mis padres están casados desde hace veinte años. Tengo una hermana pequeña que se llama Beatriz. Tiene el pelo moreno y largo. También tiene los ojos azules. Me llevo muy bien con mi hermana porque es divertida y bastante simpática. A veces me toma el pelo pero en general lo pasamos bien juntos. De vez en cuando, me ayuda con los deberes. Sin embargo, no me llevo bien con mi padre. Discutimos a menudo y me critica porque llego tarde a casa.

19 Idea 2: choose 5 words Pick 5/6 words from your first question and write these on mini-whiteboard. Using these words, how much of your answer are you able to recreate? Write it out to see how far you get without looking at the original.

20 Idea 3: dictation Dictate the answer to the second question to your partner. Only by listening (not looking at the page) write down what your partner dictates.

21 Idea 4: Sentence by sentence
Use the mini-whiteboard in your planner. Read the first sentence of your draft. Write it out on the planner. Then read the second sentence. Wipe out the first sentence. Now write the first two sentences. Repeat! ¡Hola! Me llamo Emilio y tengo quince años. ¡Hola! Me llamo Emilio y tengo quince años. Tengo el pelo corto y rubio.

22 Say the sentences out loud, or record yourself
