Show this picture version of the whole poem. Elicit the whole of the first two lines from students. Ensure that they remember de+el = del Give out the A4 handout which has the picture boxes with the words at the bottom. NB: there are two versions – one with the first words already in the correct boxes and in order in a word table on the left of the words part of the handout, with the 2nd words listed but jumbled. The 2nd version has no words with pictures and all the words jumbled underneath. As a trial I gave this to my Y10 son who’s doing Spanish GCSE – it took him 5 minutes to do the harder version and he said he thought this was hard for Y7! I propose giving the easier version to set 3, except for a few students.
