Week of October 17th-21st  Upcoming Events The Teacher’s Scoop! Great things from this week: Learning about place value (10s and 1s), nonfiction text features, Columbus Day activities, “How to Sail a Ship” writing, and realism and fantasy. Office Reminders No transportation changes will be accepted by phone, , fax or text due to pick up alerts and custody issues. If a change needs to be made you will have to bring a note to the office by 11:00am. 10/19 – Early Release Day 11/7 – Curriculum Night (Time – TBA) What We Are Learning Next Week Spelling Words: fun, but, bug, ducks, cubs, cut, hug, sun, run, shut, two, helps Sentences: 1. She has two ducks. 2. She helps with the cubs. Spelling Test will be Friday! Reading: Place Value – Continued , Greater than, less than Daily 5: Writing about Bats, continuing Guided Reading Groups, Work Work, and Read to Self LetterLand: Syllables and understanding spoken words and sounds (phonemes) Writing: All About Bats Math: Place Value, Greater than, less than WHAT’S HAPPENING THIS WEEK Star Student of the Week Snack Reminder Monday – Kordae Tuesday – Elijah Wednesday – Early Release - No Snack Thursday – Ryker Friday – Madison On your child’s snack day, please send enough snacks for 21 students.
