5 combine with ESTAR: actions in progress Estamos tomando apuntes en clase.

6 combine with SEGUIR: still doing or kept on doing something Yo sigo esperando un reproductor MP3 nuevo.

7 combine with SEGUIR: still doing or kept on doing something Aunque nos cansamos mucho, seguimos jugando al hockey.

8 combine with ANDAR: go around doing something Luisa andaba cantando en voz alta.

9 combine with llevar: have/had been doing something for a length of time Llevo dos años jugando al tenis. Llevábamos 10 minutos patinando cuando llegaste.

10 The gerund can also be combined with certain verbs of MOTION. The verb tells the direction while the gerund tells the manner.

13 ir: there Fuimos caminando al parque.

14 irse: off or away Después de perder el partido, Luis se fue manejando.

15 volver: back Fuimos al partido en metro, pero decidí volver caminando.
