1 AQA Unit 2 Speaking Los medios La televisión La publicidad Las tecnologías de la comunicación La cultura de todos los días El cine La música La moda La vida sana El deporte y el ejercicio La salud y el bienestar Las vacaciones La familia y las relaciones Las relaciones en la familia Las amistades El matrimonio y las parejas Will cover four topics out of the twelve, one on each topic area.

2 Unit 2 Speaking The exam is divided in 2 parts: Part 1: discussion of stimulus card. 5 minutes Part 2: conversation. nominated topic, 3-4 minutes conversation one, 3-4 minutes conversation two, 3-4 minutes Total duration: 15 minutes

3 Part 1: discussion of a stimulus card You are given 2 cards, each dealing with a specific sub- topic, and you must chose one. You have 20 minutes preparation. There will be five questions printed on each card which will form the basis of the discussion.

4 Part 1: discussion of a stimulus card Taking notes : You can write notes during the 20 minutes preparation time, but not on the stimulus card. You can have your notes with you in the examination room.

5 Part 1: discussion of a stimulus card 2 minutes and 30 seconds to answer 5 questions. Followed by 2 minutes and 30 seconds of further questions. Those further questions are usually generated by candidates’ response, but discussion must stay within the confines of the subtopic specified on the card. Discussion should flow naturally.

6 Part 2: conversation Conversation will cover the 3 remaining AS topics (approx 3 minutes on each topic). First topic for discussion is chosen by you from one of the subtopics on Vida sana / estilos de vida La familia / relaciones personales You can have a prompt card for your chosen topic containing up to 5 short headings (no full sentences or conjugated verbs). This prompt card will be sent to the examiner in advance.

8 Part 2: chosen topic for discussion During the 3 minutes discussion, the examiner might not cover all the points on the prompt card or in the order listed. But discussion will be centered around the topic chosen by the student. At the end of the discussion, the examiner will then make a clear transition to the next stage.

9 Part 2: conversation The remaining 2 topics will be chosen by the examiner, avoiding any overlap with the Part 1 stimulus card and your nominated topic. You will not know in advance which aspects will be covered. At the end, you will have been examined on the 4 AS topics.
