How are you? ¿Cómo está?. ▪ Ser and estar= “ to be”. ▪ To say how someone or yourself is you need to use “estar” ▪ I am happy. / yo estoy feliz. ▪ You are sad. / tú estás triste.

Some examples using “tener” Yo tengo tos= i have cough. Yo tengo catarro. I have a cold. When you say “i am cold”. You use the same “tener”= Yo tengo frio.. You can’t say “yo soy frio” unless is a state of being. I am a cold person”

Reflexive pronouns in english. I = myself You(singular)= yourself He=himself She=herself They= themselves We= ourselves You(plural)= yourselves
▪ Reflexive pronouns are used in both Spanish and English whenever the subject of a verb is also its object. In other words, reflexive pronouns are used when the subject of a sentence is acting on itself.
Example using the reflexive pronouns. ▪ An example is the “me” in “me enfermo” (and the corresponding "myself" in “I get sick"), where the person getting sick and the person sick are the same.
Object pronouns in English. ▪ I = me ▪ You= you ▪ he= him ▪ She= her ▪ We= us ▪ You all= you ▪ They=them
Object pronouns have different uses than the reflexive pronouns. ( SPANISH) ▪ me. =YO/ ▪ te.= TU INFORMAL ▪ nos.= NOSOTROS ▪ PRONOUNS ARE PLACED BEFORE THE VERB.
Examples using “me, te nos” object pronouns. ▪ El doctor me dice que estoy enfermo= the doctor tells me that I am sick. ▪ El te dice que estas enferma.= He tells you that you are sick. ▪ El doctor nos dice que estamos enfermos= the dr. tells us that we are sick.
