Adjectives What are they? - What forms do they have? - Describes a person, place, thing or idea Adjectives in Spanish agree in gender and number with the noun they modify. If an adjective describes a mixed group (masculine and feminine) then the masculine form is used. una camisa blanca unas camisas blancas un chico simpático unos chicos simpáticos

Some adjectives precede the noun or come before it. When bueno or malo comes before a masculine singular noun, they are shortened to buen or mal. When grande comes before any singular noun, it becomes gran and its meaning changes to great. Tengo un sombrero grande. I have a big hat. Eva es gran maestra. Eva is a great teacher. Mateo es un mal chico. Matt is a bad boy. Juana es una mala chica. Jane is a bad girl. Sofia es una buena estudiante. Sofia is a good student. Pedro es un buen estudiante. Peter is a good student.

Practice: Use the clues to make complete sentences. 1.Francisco/el estudiante/ malo Es un mal estudiante. 2.la señorita Álvarez/la maestra/ grande Es gran maestra. 3.Raúl/el amigo/ grande Es un gran amigo.
