When greeting someone it is customary to shake hands.
Many people also exchange a kiss on the cheek, called a beso, or a hug.

If you want to find out someone’s name you can ask:

To answer, you say: Me llamo _________.
Pleased to meet you? Encantado.
Boys, you have to use the form: Encantado
Girls, you say: Encantada
You can also say: Es un placer.
Or you can say Mucho gusto.
You can respond to Encantado or Mucho gusto with El gusto es mío.
How are you? ¿Cómo estás? Muy bien. Bien. Regular./Así así. Mal.

Adiós. Goodbye.
Hasta mañana. See you tomorrow!
