To ask how somebody is in Spanish we use the question: ¿Qué tal? Or ¿Cómo estás? A simple answer to this question would be to say well or good, in Spanish we use: bien

And you? If someone asks how you are, it is polite to ask them how they are too. To do this in Spanish we add: ¿Y tú? to our reply e.g. Bien. ¿Y tú?
