Conocer – to know 1.) be familiar with a place 2.) be familiar with a thing 3.) a person *CONOCER is followed by a personal “A” when the direct object is a person or a pet.

Conocer + “a” + persona When conocer is followed by a person, you need to include the “personal a” after conocer. Los estudiantes conocen a la Señora Van Voris.
