Tener idioms: Remember, literally these are saying “to have” something since TENER means “to have” BUT in English we would express these ideas in a different way. So, technically TENER means “to have,” but with some idioms it would be translated as “to be” – but ONLY in the cases given. It doesn’t actually work as the verb “to be” in most instances.
