3 However, the verb TENER is an IRREGULAR verb. IRREGULAR VERBS SHOULD ALWAYS BE MEMORIZED

5 Yo tengo (I have) Tú tienes (you have) Él/ella tiene (he/she has) Usted tiene (you (fml) have) Nosotros tenemos Ellos/Ellas tienen (they have) Ustedes tienen (You guys have)

6 As you know, TENER is sometimes used where in English we would use a form of the verb TO BE.

8 The verb TENER is also used to talk about your age. In English we say: I am ____ years old. In Spanish they say I have _____ years. Example: Yo tengo 14 años. I am 14 years old. Ella tiene 16 a ñ os. She is 16 years old.

9  I have blond hair.  We have a cat.  They are afraid/scared.  We are hungry.  You (inf) have a basketball game.  Yo tengo pelo rubio.  Nosotros tenemos un gato.  Ellos tienen miedo.  Nosotros tenemos hambre.  Tú tienes un partido de básquetbol.
