Using adjectives to describe!!!

 To ask how someone is (to describe them) we ask “Cómo es Alma?”  We then respond with adjectives!  Alma es bonita.

 Adjectives describe nouns (i.e. small, tall, big, tall)  Masculine adjectives will end in “o”  Feminine adjectives will end in “a”  Like articles, these will match the nouns in gender AND in number!  Adjectives will FOLLOW the noun. Ejemplos: el chico altolos pantelones negros la chica bonitalas faldas rosadas.

Many adjectives that end in “e” or a consonant will not change to match gender: el chico inteligente la chica inteligente un chico fuerte una chica fuerte un chico paciente una chica paciente

1. Raúl es (comico/comica). 2. Rosalinda es (paciente). 3. Alma es (bonito/bonita). 4. Javier es un chico (guapo/guapa). 5. Es un perro (gordo/gorda).

 There are a few exceptions to the adjective following the noun: grande, bueno, y malo. These words may go in front of a noun.  If it is a masucline singular noun the words change to gran, buen or mal. The meaning of gran is “great” instead of large.  Ejemplos:  Un mal estudiente  Un gran meastro.

1. Es un ________ estudiante. 2. Alma es una ________ estudiante. 3. La Señora es una ________ maestra. 4. El Señor es un _______ meastro. 5. El Señor es un ________ policía. 6. Ellos son unos __________ estudiantes.
