Self, family and friends Los objetivos: La familia Los animales Las partes del cuerpo

Skills: listening For this topic I have chosen to stress on the listening which is one of the hardest skills for students. I will train their ears to listen for the clues that they need to answer the questions by choosing a topic that they are familiar with (hence why I waited until after Xmas to start on this topic which should be topic 1 if you follow the scheme of work)

There is a lot of language to revise on so the presentation is very thorough and ensures that the new vocabulary is tested as we go along, to ensure pupils retain it. I have also ensured that the use of ICT and fun activities is present all the way through to ensure pupils will find it entertaining and therefore will not feel like the topic is dragging on so much

Use the following slide with the interactive white board and the Active studio program. The curtain tool is an excellent tool to use in order to keep the suspense and create challenge yet students have fun

Los animales

These following slides are there to introduce the language. Pupils see the picture, speculate on the word then it appears and they speculate on the correct pronunciation. I correct the pronunciation and get pupils to repeat them all. Much more efficient technique than ‘choir repetition’ which could be dull and boring for children after 3 words.

The next 2 slides work together. Pupils are given the second one as a handout and the text is displayed on the IWB. Pupils can then use the ‘handwriting recognition’ tool in active studio to write down the correction, and act as the teacher, which is a privilege to them
