The verb doler The verb doler is like the verb gustar. It is a verb that works ‘back to front’ when compared with its English equivalent. Me duele la garganta. – I have got a sore throat. The English object is the Spanish subject, so if one thing hurts you, the verb is singular in Spanish. Doler Me duele(n) Te duele(n) Le duele(n) Nos duele(n) Os duele(n) Les duele(n) Me duele la cabeza. – I have got a headache. If more than one thing hurts you, the verb is plural in Spanish.
