Punto #1 You’ve used vamos a + infinitive to say what a group of people is GOING TO DO. To suggest that a group of people do or not do something (Let’s [not]…), use NOSOTROS COMMANDS Used when the speaker is included Let’s + VERB

Punto #1 continued NO HABLEMOS con el director; HABLEMOS con Sergio mejor. LET’S NOT SPEAK with the principal; LET’S SPEAK with Sergio instead.

Punto #2 IR has an irregular nosotros command. VAMOS (Let’s) NO VAYAMOS (Let’s not)

Punto #2 continued NO VAYAMOS al lago hoy; está lloviendo. VAMOS al cine. Let’s not go to the lake today; it’s raining. Let’s go the movies.

Punto #3 OBJECT or REFLEXIVE PRONOUNS are ATTACHED to the END of a verb in AFFIRMATIVE commands and GO BETWEEN NO and the verb in negative commands.

Punto #3 continued ¿Hacemos la fiesta esta semana? Sí, hagámosla el viernes.

Punto #3 continued ¿Invitamos a los vecinos? No, no los invitemos este vez.

NOTE: Note that the final –S is dropped before adding NOS. No nos preocupemos por eso. Vámonos ya. (Think DORA!)

Verbs with IRREGULAR YO FORMS Verbs with YO forms that end in -go or -zco in the present tense use the same irregular ending in the NOSOTROS command.

Verbs with STEM-CHANGES  -AR and -ER stem-changing verbs do not have stem changes in the NOSOTROS COMMAND. -IR stem-changing verbs have stem changes of e → i, or o → u in the NOSOTROS form.
