What it is the Passive voice in simple present… El tiempo "Presente" de la voz pasiva responde a la pregunta: "What is done?" (¿Qué se hace?) o "What is being done?" (¿Qué se está haciendo?).

Structures Positive: subject + is/are/am + verb in past participle + subject + complement Negative: subject + is/are/am + not + verb in past participle + complement Question: is/are/am + object + verb in participle + subject + complement + ? Wh- questions: Wh + participle + to be+ object + Past Participle verb + subject + complement + ? In the case of the second question answer (What is being done?), after the verb to be, you must use “being”.

Ejemplos This room is cleaned every week. Este cuarto es limpiado (se limpia) todas las semanas. The sidewalks in this quarter are not swept up every day. Las aceras en este barrio no son barridas (no se barren) todos los días. Is baseball played in South Africa? ¿Se juega al béibol en Sudáfrica? These kids are given an hour to do the test.
