To say what you don’t like to do: A mí no me gusta…(I don’t like to…) A mí no me gusta nada…(I don’t like to…at all.) A mí tampoco. (I don’t [like to] either.) To ask others what they like to do: ¿Qué te gusta hacer? (What do you like to do?) ¿Qué te gusta más? (What do you like [prefer] better?) ¿Te gusta…? (Do you like to…?) ¿Y a ti? (And you?)

Capítulo 1A INFINITIVES -The most basic form of a verb is called the infinitive (infinitivo). -In English, infinitives usually have the word “to” in front of them: to swim to read to write -In Spanish, infinitives are only one word, and always end in –ar, -er, -ir nadar leer escribir
INFINITIVES ACTIVITY When using the verb “gustar” if you are saying you like to do something- the 2nd verb will ALWAYS be in the infinitive. Example: I like to sing. Me gusta cantar. If you are saying you like to do something a lot- you can use the modifier “mucho” Example: I like to ski a lot. Me gusta mucho esquiar. If you are saying you prefer an activity, you can use the modifier more or “más” Example: I prefer to read. Me gusta más leer.
INFINITIVES ACTIVITY Look up the underlined infinitive verbs in the English-Spanish glossary of your textbook. Then translate the sentences to Spanish. (¡ojo! Modifiers usually come before the verb.) I like to walk. 2. I don’t like to sleep. 3. I like to eat a lot. 4. I prefer to study. (or literally, I like to study more.)

Me gusta caminar. 2. I don’t like to sleep. No me gusta dormir. 3. I like to eat a lot. Me gusta mucho comer. (or Me gusta comer mucho.) 4. I prefer to study. Me gusta más estudiar. If it were a choice between 2 things, put “más” after first choice. Example: Me gusta cantar más que estudiar. ( I like to sing more than to study.)

He showed remarkable artistic talent as a child and had his first exhibition when he was only 13 years old. Musicens aux masques (1921) or Three Musicians is an example of Picasso’s cubist painting style. Study the painting and turn to your shoulder partner to discuss why it’s called “cubist” style.
