Groner Elementary School offers a strong academic foundation and safe learning environment to both nurture and encourage the development of every students potential. A day in the life of a Kindergartener Un día en la vida de un niño en Kínder

We go to class and start learning about reading! ¡Vamos a clase y comenzamos ha aprender a leer!

We will be assessing all Kindergartners sometime in late- August. You will receive an appointment time by phone. This appointment is for the teacher to get to know the children and assess them academically. Please prepare your child so he/she knows that the teachers will be asking them to identify the numbers and letters, and write their names. 1 st Month of School – El primer mes de escuela The first two weeks of school, your child needs to wear his/her bus/name tag to school everyday. When bringing your child to school please say good- bye lovingly and leave quickly, even though your child may seem upset. We will take good care of your Kindergartner! Attendance – Asistencia Regular attendance is stressed. Please be on time. Late arrivals must check into the office before going to class. Please call the office if you child wont be at school. Dismissal – Salida de la escuela If your child does not ride the bus, please wait for your child in the designated pick-up area near the office. If they need to go an alternate way, or with another person, please contact the office. Clothing – La ropa Children should wear comfortable clothing and shoes. For safety, please teach your child how to tie his/her own shoe laces. Backpack – La Mochila Students should have some means of carrying home their work, art projects, and papers. Backpacks work well. Names should be written on the inside. Parent helpers will assist in a variety of ways in the classroom and at home. Birthdays – Los cumpleaños We do celebrate birthdays in Kindergarten. You may choose to send in store-bought cookies that day, but please let us know verbally or by a note ahead of time.
