The verb: The verb without conjugation is called infinitive to eat----comer The verbs have different simple tenses: eat/eats: present tense ate: past tense eaten: present participle and many other. A sentence always have at least one conjugated verb. Usually the second verb is “infinitive.”

There are three endings for regular and irregular verbs: -AR hablarto talk -ER comerto eat -IR vivirto live Verbs are regular when the stem does not change: Hablar: hablo, hablas, habla, hablamos, hablan The regular “AR” verbs are going to be used in this lesson. They are irregular when the stem changes: Cerrar: cierro, cierras, cierra, cerramos, cierran (to close)
