Objetivo global: Mejorar la transferencia de tecnología Ciencia e Industria entre ALC & UE. Tasks: 4.1 Enhancing research-industry alliances, innovation and technology transfer Leader: UPM, Co-leader: CONACYT El propósito es analizar los mecanismos de transferencia tecnológico (TT) y recomendar opciones para reforzar las TT Science-industry bi-regional dialogue: exchange of views and brokerage events between EU and LA stakeholders Leader: CIRAD, Co-leader: CNPq (?) Taking the validated findings to the sub-regional level: Meso-america, Andean and Mercosur, –Draft report T4.1 reviewed May-June –Sharing report w EU and LAC stakeholders during Helsinki S&T TT workshop on June including WG on 3 themes: ICT, Food, environment In each of the 3 subregions an Electronic Discussion Forum between sub-regional TT specialists together with European TT experts, –3 E-Fora during the month of September 2009 –T4.1 report (v4) with 3 regional Fora « supplements » –2 National workshops in Uruguay to share T4.1 with national specialists on different themes

Task 4.2 – Sub regional dialogues contd Introducing, besides the subregional specificities, also priority S&T themes for that region, –Member countries specify their interests on the 5 preselected themes Finland, Uruguay, Colombia/Chile, … 3 sub-regional workshops (in collaboration with other WPs (+ freeriding), –Uruguay, Mercosur regional workshop in October 2009 –Nicaragua, Mesoamerican regional workshop, November 2009 –Chile/Colombia, Andean regional workshop, March 2010 –Brazil, a 4th workshop (back to back w WP2 Energy event? to be negotiated……………

Task 4.3 – EU-LAC innovation projects…. Integrating sub-regional S&T thematic priorities and sub- regional TT recommendations, (sub)regional matchmaking events are organized around established key S&T themes, with LAC-EU science and industry partners, incorporating lessons learnt and best TT practices, –Free-riding on other WP and on private sector events –Data base of country events –Uruguay, May 2009, Pan American Innovation Fair Concrete S&T project profiles are developed, based on science-idustry partnerships (favoring SMEs) targeting FP7 instruments, –In each of the 3 WP4.2 regional workshops

Still to be resolved…… Brazilian workshop either as TT specialist event as part of WP4.2 or as match making event + generating profiles and consortia as WP4.3 event???? Matchmaking event in France, 2010 or 11? Interest for a UPM workshop in Spain, on what and when?
