Chambas Chambas are the bellringer assignments we do on days when we do not write in our journals. ***These Chamba assignments will be part of your notebook grade. Chamba = Trajabjo Chamba is a slang (not formal) word for work used in Mexico, Peru and Venezuela. If you need to formally speak about tasks, or work you must use trabajo.

Apuntes Apuntes are the notes that you take in class (copy from board- if a teacher puts it on a board copy it down), Cornell notes used with readings, and/or any other notes related to this class. ***These Apuntes will be a major part of your notebook grade.

Impresos Impresos are the hand outs or copies that I pass out in class; they can be rubrics or assignments. ***These Impresos will be a minor part of your notebook grade.

Actividades Actividades are the activities we do in class that are not completed on Quia; this can include homework assignments. ***These Actividades will be a major part of your notebook grade.

Registros Registros are the logs where you record how, where and when you practice Spanish outside of class. I have requested 15 minutes a day, this can be done as 30 minutes one day or an hour another or the best and most effective will be the 15 minutes per day practice. ***You can listen to Spanish music, watch Spanish TV, practice vocabulary and/or grammar, hold a conversation with someone in Spanish, or generally any way to use Spanish outside class. If you watch an English documentary about Hispanic Culture you may count every 30 minutes as 10 minutes of practice. ***These Registros will be a major part of your notebook grade.

Necesitas llevar tu cuaderno de español, tu computadora y tu libro. Pienso que tú puedes obtener tu libro en disco para dejar el libro en casa y sólo llevar la computadora a clase. ¡Preguntame!???

Voy a recoger los cuadernos al azar (randomly) a la vez, depende en cuanto tiempo tengo. Voy a calificarlos cuatro veces al semestre. (2x cada report card)

Cada vez que calificar los cuadernos va a estar 100 puntos. Entonces hay 400 puntos al semestre en tu cuaderno. 10 points off automatically if it is not available when I request it in class. 10 points off everyday it is late; even if you are absent unless you have a hospital note, funeral announcement, or other critical issue that can be proven. If you will miss class any day after I request your notebook you need to make sure someone brings it to me that day if you do not wish to lose the additional 10 points.
