MINI LESSON Greetings and Goodbyes Formal vs. Informal

 You use the formal form when talking to adults. For example: you would talk in a formal form with teachers, parents, grandparents, etc. This shows respect.  You use the informal form when talking to your friends (amigos), people your age or children.

Formal Vs.Informal  Hola, ¿Cómo está usted? - Hello, How are you?  ¿y usted? - and you?  ¿Cómo se llama? - What is your name?  Hola, ¿Cómo estás? - Hello, How are you?  ¿y tú? - and you?  ¿Cómo te llamas? - What is your name?

Responses to “¿Cómo está/s?  (Yo) estoy… Muy = very  Bien = good  Mal = bad  Cansado/a = tired Chicos: cansado, Chicas: cansada  Más o menos = okay  Ejemplo: Yo estoy muy bien, gracias.

Work Session  Work with a partner to write a dialogue.  In this dialogue, you will greet one another, introduce your selves, ask how each other how they are doing, and say goodbye.  You need to write your part and your partners part.  You will perform these tomorrow.
