3 PRETÉRITO  A past action that is viewed as completed.  Series of completed past actions.  Ayer por la tarde, Ayla pasó dos horas haciendo la tarea de español.  Jerrod cenó con su familia. Después, vio la televisión, y a las once se acostó.

4  An action that focuses on the beginning, the end, or the completed duration of a past event/events.  Al principio, Elizabeth no pudo hablar con el profesor de Física. PRETÉRITO *Al principio = At the beginning

5  A completed past condition that is viewed as completely over and done with.  Los Texas Rangers fueron muy malos durante muchos años.

6 IMPERFECTO  Habitual/Routine past action.  Todos los veranos, Kutter jugaba al fútbol con sus amigos.
