3 The Network Special Action of the National Program of R&D –REFS: DPI-2005-25234-E, DPI2006-28363-E. Integrated by different agents with more than 30 groups working on AT: –research, development, management and use AT Main goal: to promote the exchange of knowledge and experiences on AT among different actors and topics. To establish new links with the users in order to know and satisfy their special needs The RETADIM Network organizes multidisciplinary activities such as work meetings, thematic workshops, visits to centres, exchange of researches and others It is the Group of Reference in Spain of the European project COST 219ter that deals with Telecommunications: Access by Disabled and Elderly People www.retadim.org

4 Objectives Exchange of knowledge and advancements on the area. Promotion of collaboration among similar/complementary groups Increasing the critical mass of R&D: –Articulating human resources –Promoting the mobility of young researchers –Performing ambitious national/international projects –To facilitate multidisciplinary collaboration among other agents in the area Dissemination knowledge and results to the scientific community and to the society Projection to the productive sector www.retadim.org

11 Activities (2/3) Workshop: Implication of the disabled people as user in the R&D projects Place and date: CEAPAT ( IMSERSO), Madrid- 13 de June, 2007 Objectives: To show the active place that the disabled people should take in R&D projects, defining good and bad practices on the whole project, from the detection of special needs to the execution and validation, considering ethical and operative aspects. To stimulate the creation of research projects with more relation with the real problems and real demands of the society. To present the points of view and formulas of conjunction of the different actors of the R&D: researches, developers, manufacturers, therapist, users and others.
