2 Certain verbs are used with
indirect object pronouns. Indirect object pronouns tell to whom or for whom the action is being done and are used to accompany or replace an indirect object pronoun.

4 Indirect Object Pronouns
Me—to/for me Te—to/for you Le—to/for him,her,you (f.) Nos—to/for us Les—to/for them, you (pl.)

5 Indirect objects may be followed
by a prepositional phrase to emphasize or clarify meaning: (a mí) me (a ti) te (a él/ella/Ud.) le (a nosotros/as) nos (a ellos/ellas/Uds.) les

6 Yo le di un triciclo a mi sobrino. (I gave my nephew a tricycle.)
El calor me dio un dolor de cabeza. (The heat gave me a headache.) *It is necessary to use a prepositional phrase for the él/ellos form.

7 Indirect object pronouns go before a conjugated verb or attached to
the infinitive. Le quería comprar dulces. Quería comprarle dulces. (I wanted to buy him sweets.)
