4 Indirect Object Pronouns Indirect Objects are nouns that tell to whom/what or for whom/what They replace (or accompany) indirect objects. (There must be an indirect object pronoun in a sentence with an indirect object.) They are the same as Direct Object Pronouns (DOPs) except the singular and plural forms.

5 Indirect Object Pronouns Singular me te le Plural nos os les

6 le and les These pronouns can refer to different indirect objects. –Example: Susana, my dad, him To help clarify what they mean, they are often used with : a + name, noun, or pronoun. examples: a Susana or a mi padre or a él

7 Ejemplo 1 Rosa le compra una olla. –Rosa buys a pot for her. Rosa le compra una olla a su madre. –Rosa buys a pot for her mother.

8 Ejemplo 2 Yo les cuento del examen. –I tell (to) them about the exam. Yo les cuento del examen a mis amigos. –I tell (to) my friends about the test.

9 Ejemplo 3 Ella nos compra unos discos compactos. Ella nos compra unos discos compactos a nosotros She buys CDs for us.

10 Ejemplo 4 Mis padres me compran un anillo. Mis padres me compran un anillo a mí. –My parents buy a ring for me.

11 Practicar – translate to English Ana te compra un collar. Ricardo me devuelve el disco compacto. Las muchachas le devuelven los zapatos a la vendedora. Yo les compro una jarras a mis tías. Ana buys a necklace for you. Ricardo returns the CD to me. The girls return the shoes to the sales lady. I buy some pitchers for my aunts.
