TK Hemmick1 HBD Status TK Hemmick for the HBD group

TK Hemmick2 HBD activities in IR over last week GEM conditioning is done on Friday evening All modules hold voltage in gain regime. ES1 module still shows a ~1 uA current @ 500 V (higher than operating) but eventually it works showing good cosmic signals. The gas flow is ~4.5 l/min per arm The new Lakeshores RTD PS installed on both vessels The pedestal data have been taken (3 times) in HBD standalone mode showing very good (as it was in Run-7) level Hall probes job is in progress, we expect that during next IR access it will be done New transmission measurements are on their way HV software is almost ready Near online ( includes production as subset ) almost ready.

TK Hemmick6 P/T Variations Because we use a triple GEMstack, the gain is the cube of a single GEMstack gain. n/V (P/T) variations are also cubed leading to string gain variations. We will run 5 voltage regimes (chosen per fill or per run) to minimize the swing of detector gain. Plots on the right are based upon Mid-December through Mid-January

TK Hemmick7 Software Status Online Monitor (Sky Rolnick) Goal: Basically same as before: make work, add some text Online Calibration (Aneta Iordanova) Make single-pad spectrum same for: Every module (can be done on OnlCal) Every pad in a module (requires co-ho cluster) Determine absolute gain: Requires track veto (co-ho cluster) Offline (Takao Sakaguchi & Sky Rolnick) Production…save mini-cell (raw) Takao Analysis…Hub&Spoke (Sky Rolnick) High Voltage (Manuel Priossl) New framework used to apply voltages one-by-one. Still a few development tasks.

TK Hemmick8 Practice using Run 7 Data AuAu Run7 data, run 238165, ES1 ↔ ES2 gain different between modules → sensitive to exponential fit range

TK Hemmick9 Summary All systems seem good to go. We expect to see good performance both in the testing period and also with data in the plus-plus mode. We are still waiting on the short-short format required for ++ running.
