3 Hispanic Heritage Month begins on September 15, the anniversary of Independence for 5 Latin American countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, & Nicaragua. This period ends on October 15. This event is when people recognize the contributions of Hispanic and Latino Americans to the U.S. & celebrate the groups heritage & culture. Hispanic Heritage week was approved by Pres. Lyndon Johnson & was expanded by Pres. Ronald Reagan in 1988 to cover a 30-Day Period. Hispanic Heritage Month also celebrates the long & important presence of Hispanic Americans in North America.

In My 3 rd Block 6 out of 16 students are hispanic (37.5%) In Block 4 four out of ten students are hispanic (40%)
